Initiation of the Helmut Schmidt Distinguished Chair and the DAAD/SAIS Post-Doctoral Program

Join us on the Day of German Unity to kick-off a brand new, multi-year program featuring the new Helmut Schmidt Distinguished Professor and a new Post-Doctoral program in the field of international relations and history.

This inaugural event will begin with an introduction to the program by the President of DAAD, whose generous support began this initiative at SAIS, and an address on current issues by Germany’s Deputy Foreign Minister. This will be followed by a discussion on the current state of world order and contemporary issues facing the United States and Europe. ​
