Dr. Anita R. Kellogg is a Senior Fellow at the Foreign Policy Institute of Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Her research delves deeper into the commercial peace theory by examining how businesses influence national security policymaking. Currently, she is studying the business community’s role in foreign policy decision-making to prevent military conflict between economically interdependent rivals for a forthcoming book. While at SAIS, she is also expanding her research on Chinese foreign policy to gain a greater understanding of the interaction of China's close economic ties and longstanding political conflicts with its East Asia neighbors.

Dr. Kellogg received her Ph.D in Political Science at the University of California, Los Angeles, with a focus in International Relations and Quantitative Methods. She also has Masters degrees from the University of Chicago and the University of Amsterdam. She has spent years living and conducting research in East Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

In addition to her academic publications, Dr. Kellogg also writes for more general audiences on current East Asian affairs, the politics of Latin America, international economics, and national security.
